Rwanda showcases its coffee and tea at SCTA in Singapore

Rwanda takes part in the Specialty Coffee & Tea Asia for the first time from the 22nd to the 24th of June 2022 at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre in Singapore. The event, organized by Montgomery Asia in collaboration with the Singapore Coffee Association (SCA), brought together over 5,000 professionals from the coffee and tea industries (growers and producers, processors, suppliers, roasters, traders, retailers, etc.) to network, develop, and make business deals.

Coffee producing countries from around the world, including Rwanda, brought their specialty coffee to be sampled during several cupping sessions during the three-day expo in order to gain the trust of new markets.
Rwanda's twenty batches of coffee will be tasted in three batches at the Singapore National Coffee Championship, and the winning coffees will be auctioned off on special offers in October of this year.

This business platform allows Rwanda to network with well-known business dealers in the coffee and tea industries. Another possibility is that coffees at the expo will be certified by the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Coffee Federation.

At the event's start, Rwanda's High Commissioner in Singapore, Amb. Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye, welcomed Ms. Low Yen Ling, Singapore's State Minister in the Ministry of Trade and Industry at Rwanda's booth, who was the guest of honor in the opening ceremony. She liked the quality of Rwanda's products at the stand and applauded the country's efforts to develop its coffee and tea industries.

Visitors to Rwanda's Expo booth appreciated the flavors of the cups through the colors, acidity levels, mouthful, aroma, and body of the coffee.
