Twenty one coffee exporting companies from Rwanda attended the 17th SCAJ World Specialty Coffee Conference and Exhibition in Tokyo, Japan, from October 12-14, 2022 with the primary goal of increasing visibility of Rwandan single origin specialty coffees and the 'Rwanda Coffee' brand in the Japanese and global specialty coffee markets.
This largest international trade show in Asia, with the theme "Come Join the Specialty Coffee Community," brought together more than 200 coffee business companies who will exhibit their specialty coffees, newly developed equipment, innovations, and technologies in the value chain to more than 35,000 people expected to attend from 40 countries.
Participants at SCAJ 2022 will be exposed to the latest trends in the coffee industry as well as the excellence of specialty coffees from various producers.
Furthermore, this year's conference will set the tone for discussions about expanding scientific knowledge and new insights in the specialty coffee industry. This will allow Rwanda's coffee sector players to gain a better understanding of diverse and innovative products and other requirements of international markets.
Rwanda's participation in this platform was made possible by a collaborative effort between NAEB and the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in Japan, with the goal of strengthening existing client relationships and negotiating new business deals with potential buyers.
