Fourteen horticulture producing-exporting companies have attended the 27th edition of Fruit Logistica Expo in Berlin, Germany as part of efforts to explore new markets in Europe for Rwandan fresh produce. This three-day trade fair that was launched today will be an opportunity for the Rwanda delegation to boost Rwanda's export volumes and foreign exchange receipts.
Since 2012, Rwanda has been participating in this fresh fruits and veggies show to accelerate the growth of horticulture sector in Rwanda. “This has paid off but we still have a long journey to go. That’s why we still participate to create international market linkages for our products.” Said Cynthia Uwacu, the Export Market Development and Innovation Division Manager at NAEB. “We are here to promote the Rwanda Fresh brand on the global market.” She added.
It is expected that the delegation will gain appropriate knowledge and information on prevailing global trends in horticulture sector development.
