During the week between 26th and 30th October 2020, a lot was done to implement activities that were planned basing on NAEB’s strategic objectives and annual targets, though there might have been some constraints to make them fully achieved.
We exported 303,808Kg of Rwanda Tea which generated US$874,322.3, approximately FRW858 million. These Rwandan made teas were exported mainly to Pakistan, United Kingdom, Kazakhstan and Egypt.
In the same week, the country exported 584,689Kg of Rwandan coffee worth US$2,397,141 equivalent to FRW 2,352,314,463. The exported consignment was mainly made up of Arabica Coffee. Main countries of destinations included Russia, Australia and United Kingdom.
Horticulture exported products included 28,032Kg of fruits worth US$73,857; 46,766Kg of vegetables worth US$105,002 and 27,395Kg of flowers with a value of US$141,387.
Fruits and flowers experienced an increase compared to last week. 98.9% of flowers were exported to The Netherlands whereas 1.1% was sent to UK. Major destinations of all horticulture products included; 21% to UK, 20.2% to Dubai, 47.9% to Holland, 6.4% to France and 3% to German. Of all products exported by air, RwandAir lifted 74.9%.
During the same week, the country exported 223,933Kg of livestock products, i.e: meat, milk products, live animals and/or their products, fishes, honey worth US$268,652 or FRW263,628,207.6; 99% of these products were imported by the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The total volumes of last week’s exports was 3,179,794Kg which earned US$2,058,332 or FRW 2.019 billion.
