Yesterday, 28th October 2021, the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) in partnership with the French embassy in Rwanda launched a two years program - “GlobalGro Ignition” - that aims to support and strengthen innovation and competitiveness of the agri-food sector through supporting companies to access new markets, diversify their offers or mode of productions to face and respond to the challenges and emerging issues in the agri-food industry.
This program is the second phase of GlobalGro project launched in January 2020 to support the growth of young entrepreneurs in Rwandan agribusiness sector.
“The French Embassy in Rwanda wishes to help promote Rwanda's agricultural products and know-how practices that could increase volumes of agricultural export products being exported to France, Europe and the world from Rwanda.” Said the French ambassador to Rwanda Antoine Anfré.
Vitagora, the agri-food Innovation cluster, under the financial support of the French Embassy in Rwanda will lead the implementation of this project.
An acceleration program is the first component of the GlobalGro Ignition project which aims to support the innovation and competitiveness of the Rwandan agri-food sector. This program will combine training sessions, coaching and mentorship from experienced professionals, to help fellow agri-food companies to accelerate their development and reach their export goals.
