Rwanda attends 2022 Fruit Logistica to showcases its fresh fruits and vegetables

Eight Rwandan horticultural produce export companies will attend the 2022 Fruit Logistica in Berlin, Germany, from April 5 to 7, 2022. Fruit Logistica, which attracts over 3000 exhibiting companies and over 72,000 trade visitors from all over the world each year, is regarded as an indispensable meeting place for the global fresh fruit and vegetable business community.

The overall goal of the Rwandan delegates attending the Fruit Logistica 2022 exhibition is to accelerate the growth of fresh produce in Rwanda by establishing international market links and mobilizing foreign investors willing to invest in Rwanda's fresh produce sector.

Fruit Logistica is a leading source of information on all aspects of the fresh produce industry. The event will cover topics such as fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts and dried fruits, product packaging and labeling, transportation and logistics systems, products handling, and storage.

The Rwandan pavilion at this exhibition will act as a link between all Rwandan fresh fruit and vegetable producers and international markets, particularly those in the European Union, in order to increase Rwanda's export volumes and foreign exchange receipts. Rwanda earned USD13,892,799 in vegetable exports and USD9,983,469 in fruit exports between January and December 2021.

Virunga Biotech Ltd, Proxifresh Ltd, Best in Rwanda Group Ltd, Garden Fresh Ltd, Souk farms, Bahage Foods Ltd, Tropi Rwanda Ltd, and Afrifoods Ltd participated on behalf of the country, thanks to the National Agricultural Export Development Board, the Rwandan Embassy in Berlin, and IDH, The Sustainable Trade Initiative.
